Property of the Authority

Last week [this was written 02/03/03] there was a tragic event, the Space Shuttle Columbia was destroyed before being able to safely land with it's crew. May the Lord help the grieving families and friends recover.

When watching the news, the correspondents warned people not to touch or take anything pertaining to the Shuttle. They warned that there was physical danger handling the Shuttle (and it's associated cargo) as well as a threat of prosecution from the Federal authorities who claimed possession of all associated items from the flight. (It was said that the Shuttle was Government property.)

This event brought to my mind the accursed items (items being under a curse) of Jericho (the city that was captured and destroyed under Joshua's leadership), our tithes, our offerings, and the Lord's Day (the seventh day of the week), all of these the Lord claimed for Himself (consecrated).  Concerning the Space Shuttle, those who take the initiative to defy the law of the land will have to answer to judgment according to the law [of the land].   Additionally, those who knowingly, selfishly, and without authority, handle the Shuttle, must face physical consequences to their own detriment and at their own risk.

Concerning those things that are God's property, many will have to answer to judgment according to the law [of God], which should be written in our hearts.

What physical harm is there in possessing the accursed things which belong to God? The disadvantages of being under a curse do not need to be elaborated on (they are self evident). Physical harm concerning the Sabbath Day / The Lord's Day (The seventh day of the week): If a day was made for man by God, do we need it (anymore)? If God made man a sign to remember that He is God, do we need it? Or has man reached such intellect and the work of man's hands is so great, that he no longer needs God and/or no longer has trouble remembering to rely on and serve his creator? Is there any physical harm in forgetting God? Obviously, there is great harm if forgetting God, as well as it is disrespectful and ungratefulness to the one who loves us so much, God Almighty (Jesus).
